Abstract

Performance and combustion of oxygenated diesel blends and alternate oxygenated fuels (e.g., Diglyme, DME) studied via simulation. Increased cetane number and fuel-borne oxygen improved combustion, cylinder pressure, and engine performance, while some blends reduced calorific value and increased brake specific fuel consumption. Universal oxygenate correction factor recommended for accurate simulation. © 2011/2020 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
