In the traditional machining world, the drilling process has an important contribution to chip removal. The most important goals of drilling are low-cost and high-quality drilling. Drilling is a serious problem in precision engineering and mass production, so it needs great attention in manufacturing. Burr formation between inlet and outlet, surface roughness and corresponding maximum material rate. It plays an important role in quality during operation. The experiment was designed by Taguchi L27 orthogonal array. The focus of this study is to minimize the response when entering process parameters cutting speeds 0f 8, 16 and 24 m/min, feed 0.04, 0.12 and 0.2 mm/rev, point angles 118, 126 and 134 degrees. So study suggests that the lip angle is 8 degrees, 10 degrees and 12 degrees, and the diameter is constant at 10 mm, optimized by VIKOR approach. © 2023 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
