Abstract

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) an essential technique in analyzing the fluid engineering flow analysis. CFD analysis is widely used to determine the flow in Automobiles, Pumps, Compressors, Turbines, Aerospace industries, in fact in any areas of study, where involves the flow and fluid motion study The flow pumps are used to pump fluids such as power stations. In this project, we are going to increase the volumetric efficiency of the centrifugal pump. The CFD analysis is done for the existing design of the centrifugal pump. Then the loss are minimized by redesigning the blades of the impeller vanes. Then the existing design and the redesigned vanes are subjected to CFD analysis using FLOTRAN software. Thus the loss are minimized and the maximum volumetric efficiency is obtained. © 2023 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
