Renewable energy systems often face challenges such as inefficient energy conversion, poor voltage regulation, and limited real-time monitoring capabilities. These problems occur in lower performance, energy waste, and decreased reliability when connecting renewable sources to the grid and storage systems. Tackling these challenges necessitates sophisticated control strategies and improved monitoring to enhance overall efficiency and stability. This research presents a PV-Grid Integration utilizing a Whale Optimized Proportional-Integral (PI) Controller alongside IoT Monitoring. The hybrid renewable energy setup comprises a Photovoltaic (PV) array, battery storage, and grid connection. The outputs from the PV array processed by Quadratic Boost Converter (QBC) to increase DC voltage, which is then regulated by a Whale Optimized PI Controller. A Bidirectional DC-DC converter links with battery to oversee charging and discharging processes, facilitating energy storage and distribution. The DC bus interlinks the energy components to Three-Phase Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) for AC power conversion, which is subsequently filtered and delivered to the grid. Moreover, a Node MCU module transmits essential system parameters, including PV voltage and current, battery voltage, and State Of Charge (SOC), to an IoT display, providing realtime monitoring and control functions. This system guarantees effective energy management, grid support, and enhanced operational oversight through Internet of Things (IoT) integration. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
