Abstract

The effect of alcoholic extract of Indigofera aspalathoides were investigated in rat to evaluate the anti-inflammatory activity. Carrageenin induced rat paw edema model and cotton pellet granuloma methods were employed to test anti-inflammatory activity. The alcoholic extract (250 mg/kg) produced the inhibition of carrageenin induced rat pàw edema and also found to be effective in cotton pellet granuloma studies. The result indicated that the alcoholic extract produced significant (P<0.001) anti-inflammatory activity with respect to control. © 2013 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
