Abstract

Nanotechnology is currently human's most developed technology whose strategies in case of energies, especially the solar energy, influence all the energy systems. This paper proposes the performance of conventional solar PV cells and outlines the recent developments in nano-tech related to solar cells. Developments in nano-tech solar cells via nanotubes and quantum dots could reduce the cost of PV cells and modules for bulk power generation as well as improve the cell conversion efficiency. © 2015 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
