Cloud computing has been usedglobally to refer different technologies, services and concepts. Based on the user demand cloud provides virtual infrastructure, hardware as services.Energy management is one of the major issues in data center. Through data center monitoring and analyze, which offered services to users and collecting data such as consumption of energy and carbon emission. There is continues monitoring helps to calculate and record the power consumption of cluster, server and datacenter objects. The application load balancing physical and virtual server consolidation and optimization factors to achieve the low carbon emission. There are many power sources such as solar, wind, hydro, geothermal and power Grid are using in datacenter discussed and found which source of power has more benefits to reduce the power and carbon emission. In this paper mostly concentrated all form of virtualization technologies in cloud data centers. In this paper experimental setup and monitoring and defined with thresholds. Where identified the gap between server consolidation and optimization, continuously monitor the hypervisor resource usage. The Power consumption was calculated based on the above mentioned resource load which help to reduce the energy consumption in data center. The analysis has been experimented in the laboratory which is helped to consume less power and reduced the carbon emission in the data center. This helps to realize green cloud environment in data center. © 2017 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
