Abstract

Study on insulin effect on small intestinal transit (SIT) in normal mice. Insulin (2 μU/kg, 2 mU/kg, 2 U/kg) accelerated SIT, with lower doses acting independently of blood glucose levels. Adrenergic and cholinergic systems play significant role; calcium channels, opioidergic system and endogenous insulin augment effect. © 2006 The WJG Press. © 2021 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
