Abstract

Medium strength aluminium alloy (Al-Mg-Si, AA 6061) widely used for lightweight structures with high strength-to-weight ratio. Weldability is key; pulsed current TIG welding improves mechanical properties due to grain refinement in the fusion zone. Study investigates influence of pulsed current TIG parameters on tensile properties of weldments. © 2006 Elsevier Ltd. © 2015 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
