Abstract

Ethanol extract of Tragia cannabina roots studied for antihyperglycemic and antioxidant effects in STZ-induced diabetic rats. Oral administration (250 mg/kg) for 21 days reduced blood glucose, normalized lipid and protein markers, increased SOD and catalase in liver, and reversed histopathological changes. Comparable to glibenclamide. © Mary Ann Liebert, Inc. and Korean Society of Food Science and Nutrition. © 2011 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
