Abstract

Betaine prevented isoprenaline-induced myocardial infarction in male albino rats by normalizing diagnostic marker enzymes, homocysteine levels, and antioxidant system. Histopathology confirmed myocardial protection. Effect attributed to membrane stabilization and antioxidant activity. © Springer Science+Business Media B.V. 2009. © 2010 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
