Abstract
Medication adherence in hypertensive patients was assessed in Bangalore, India. Of 608 patients, 49.67% were non-adherent. Barriers included belief (39.14%), access (82.57%), recall (62.17%), cost (78.62%) and refill difficulties (54.93%). Non-adherence may result in poor blood pressure control and limits effective management of hypertension. © 2011 World Heart Federation.
