Abstract

Activated carbon prepared from cassava peel was studied for removal of malachite green dye from aqueous solution. Adsorption efficiency increased with higher adsorbent dosage, lower dye concentration, and appropriate pH. Silver nitrate-treated cassava peel outperformed sulphuric acid-treated and raw carbons, offering a cost-effective dye removal method for textile effluents. © 2020 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
