Abstract

This interventional study evaluated iron and zinc deficiency effects on short-term memory in children aged 6-11 years and response to supplementation. Combined deficiency caused significant verbal and non-verbal memory deficits, improved after supplementation. In 6-8 years, only non-verbal memory was affected. Post-supplementation IQ scores showed no significant improvement. © 2011 Indian Academy of Pediatrics. © 2011 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
