Abstract

Zinc oxide nanostructures with star-like morphology were synthesized via microwave irradiation in the presence of polyvinyl pyrrolidone. Characterization via SEM, TEM, SAED, XRD, and FT-IR confirmed wurtzite structure. Chemoresistive sensors using these structures showed high sensitivity, short response and recovery times for low-concentration ammonia detection. © 2011 Springer Science+Business Media B.V. © 2011 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
