Abstract

A community-based cross-sectional study in Hubli assessed prevalence of reproductive tract infections (RTIs) among 656 women aged 15-45 years. Prevalence based on symptoms was 40.4%, clinical findings 37.4%, and laboratory tests 34.3%, with Candidiasis being most common. Socio-demographic factors such as high parity, poor socio-economic conditions, poor menstrual hygiene, and illiteracy influenced RTI occurrence. © 2012 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
