Abstract

Polycythemia results from an increased red blood cell mass, leading to elevated hematocrit and characteristic hyperdense cerebral vessels on non-contrast CT imaging. These findings may mimic cerebral venous thrombosis and cause diagnostic confusion. This case report discusses a presentation of polycythemia with typical hyperdense cerebral vasculature on CT.
