Abstract

This study evaluated buccal fat pad as an interposition material in oral submucous fibrosis surgery in 8 patients with mouth opening <20 mm. Postoperative mouth opening improved from mean 14 mm preoperatively to mean 33.25 mm intraoperatively and mean 30.63 mm at discharge. Pedicled grafts were successful, showing significant improvement in mouth opening. © 2012 K. Saravanan and Vinod Narayanan. © 2012 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
