Abstract
Pattern analysis applied to 219 FNAC cases of solitary thyroid nodules (STN) with histopathological correlation. Primary and secondary cytological patterns identified; sensitivity 66.7%, specificity 98.9%, positive predictive value 88.9%, negative predictive value 96%, overall accuracy 95.4%. Demonstrates feasibility and reproducibility of pattern analysis in diagnosing thyroid lesions. © 2010 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
