Abstract

Pattern analysis was applied to fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) of thyroid lesions in 233 cases. Smears were classified by primary and secondary patterns, showing sensitivity 90.47%, specificity 100%, and diagnostic accuracy 99.14%. Study demonstrates feasibility of pattern analysis for accurate thyroid lesion diagnosis. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. © 2013 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
