Abstract

This study compares the oral microbiota of normal and HIV-infected individuals over 2.5 years. Significant shifts were observed in microbial populations, with increased colonization by Micrococcus spp., Acinetobacter, and Klebsiella in patients with low CD4+ counts. Restoration of CD4+ levels brought microbiota closer to normal composition. © 2011 Association of Otolaryngologists of India. © 2014 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
