Maxillary necrosis is rare and may occur due to infection, trauma, or metabolic disorders. Mucormycosis is a common fungal infection affecting the maxilla, particularly in diabetic and immunocompromised patients. We report a case of maxillary necrosis due to mucormycosis in an uncontrolled diabetic patient. Early diagnosis and prompt treatment are essential to reduce morbidity and mortality. © 2013 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
