A solar-powered low-cost DC-DC converter based line frequency inverter is proposed for domestic lighting loads. The system includes a high-frequency push-pull boost converter with single-stage inverter topology. Electrical energy from solar panels can be stored in batteries for standalone applications. Simulation results demonstrate the performance of the proposed high-frequency transformer-based inverter. © 2012 IEEE. © 2013 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
