Abstract

This paper addresses power quality challenges in wind power generation systems. A UPFC (Unified Power Flow Controller) is used to enhance power quality when wind generators are connected to the grid. Simulation using MATLAB/SIMULINK demonstrates real and reactive power compensation, addressing voltage sag, harmonics, power peaks, and flickers. © 2012 IEEE. © 2013 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
