Abstract
A three-level inverter is designed using series power semiconductor switches with lower-voltage DC sources to synthesize staircase voltage waveforms. This approach reduces harmonics but increases complexity. Different three-level inverter topologies with SPWM were applied to power a three-phase induction motor. Simulation results demonstrate inverter performance. © 2012 IEEE. © 2013 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
