Abstract
Lingual thyroid is a rare ectopic thyroid variant, accounting for 90% of ectopic cases. A 32-year-old woman presented with a tongue base mass and dysphagia. Clinical, biochemical, and radioisotope findings confirmed lingual thyroid with hypothyroidism. Treatment with levothyroxine reduced the mass and symptoms. © Association of Surgeons of India 2012. © 2014 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
