Aims: To compare the shear bond strength of sixth-generation and seventh-generation bonding agents to dentin. Eighty maxillary premolars were flattened to expose dentin and divided into four groups bonded using Adper SE Plus, Xeno III, Adper Easy One, and Xeno V. Composite cylinders were built and tested for shear bond strength after 24 hours of water storage. Seventh-generation adhesives showed significantly higher shear bond strength than sixth-generation adhesives (P < 0.01). Adper Easy One produced the highest values and Adper SE Plus the lowest. Conclusion: Seventh-generation adhesives provide better bond strength with fewer steps and less time. © 2014 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
