Abstract

Ovarian vein syndrome is an obstructive uropathy caused by a dilated ovarian vein. A rare case in an 8-year-old child due to a true vascular anomaly is reported. Initial laparoscopic ureterolysis with ligation of the arteriovenous malformation failed, requiring ureteroureterostomy after 3 months. The case highlights the need to remove diseased segments even when they appear normal.
