Abstract

Context: Non-Hodgkin′s lymphoma (NHL) comprises diverse malignancies whose prognosis depends on histologic type and HIV positivity. This study evaluated eight oral cavity NHL cases for histologic type and HIV status. 75% were B-cell type, of which 83% were diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. HIV positivity was detected in 62.5% of patients. The study emphasizes routine HIV screening and histologic typing for optimal treatment and prognosis.
