Abstract

Evaluation of vermicomposting ability of Lampito mauritii and Perionyx ceylanensis using three organic substrates with cowdung. Optimal worm numbers determined for efficient decomposition based on C/N reduction, decomposition percentage, worm recovery, and biomass. L. mauritii established as standard; P. ceylanensis standardized for local conditions. Vermicomposting increased EC, total N, P, K; decreased organic carbon, C/N, C/P ratios. © Springer Science+Business Media, LLC 2008. © 2009 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
