Abstract

Vermicast-lignite combinations (0:1 to 6:1) used as carriers for Azotobacter chroococcum, Bacillus megaterium, and Rhizobium leguminosarum. Viable cell counts maintained >10^7 g-1 at 10 months in 4:1, 5:1, 6:1, 1:0 combinations; lignite-only carriers lost viability by 5–6 months. Higher vermicast proportion increased survival.
