In the present scenario power failures is a key issue. This affects the normal operation of any utility firm, which results in revenue and data losses. To overcome this problem uninterrupted power supply were introduced. Generally the uninterrupted power supply batteries is charged from the distribution line but in this paper a Simulink model has been developed which is dual charging model of batteries i.e. charging from the panel kept in the sunlight and the other kept near the illumination source itself, which can replace the conventional method of charging. The solar panels are provided with the Maximum Power Point Tracking Algorithm which will useful to get the maximum efficiency out of the solar panels. By introducing the dual charging circuit, the battery is charged quickly, which also leads to the recycling of power. An equivalent hardware model was also developed. © 2020 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
