Abstract

Modular Multilevel Converters (MMC) highly suggested power converter for high voltage applications. Because of more number of MOSFET and capacitor the MMC converter had low stability To enhance the MMC circuit topology a dedicated control strategy is developed to sense the open circuit liability. Furthermore a sub system is established to continuously record the sub module voltage level and register the better flow power control. An intelligent micro controller based digital control system is implemented to digitize the sub module voltage signal and also which is used to identify the exact faulty sub module in proposed circuit topology with help of high resolution sensors. The productiveness of the proposed fault identification control system and the sub module dc voltage monitoring strategy is verified by the simulation results. © 2020 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
