Abstract

Increasing demand for buildings at a cheaper cost had led the researchers to look for alternative materials that can be infused with the concrete in order to make development of new construction materials which fill the need. The alternative materials are focused on the environment organic fibers which has been used to mix with the concrete to improve the strength. Few of the data's have shown promising results, which have led some researchers to infuse various fibers with the beam-columns in order to increase its strength, without having negative effects on its strength. The natural fibers and artificial fibers affect the strength of the column beam in various ways enhancing its properties. This paper presents the review of the selective works of various researchers and presents a comparative study on the advantage and disadvantage of various fibers in the beam column joints. © 2023 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
