Abstract

The present experimental study aims at learning the mechanical behaviour of normal beams and retrofitted beams with natural fibers. Natural fiber like jute. By the procedure of wrapping it on the beams with the help of epoxy resin and hardener. The fibers were cutted as per the wrapping types and then it is wrapped. The normal or conventional beams were tested and then the fiber wrapped beams were tested in the flexural testing machine. Then the flexural strength were observed and compared to the base values to perceive the change in strength. This experimental study were very useful for the cracked structure to retain its original strength. This experiment was applied in construction field and it is also a low cost process and valuable experiment. But precautions were taken for applying the epoxy composites on the beam. © 2023 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
