This cross-sectional study assessed the prevalence and epidemiological profile of pulmonary tuberculosis among 300 elderly residents in 10 old age homes in Salem, Tamil Nadu. TB prevalence was 2.6%, with higher rates in females, symptomatic individuals, underweight residents, those in dormitories, and individuals with comorbidities. The study emphasizes proactive screening and targeted interventions for early TB detection in older adults.
