Abstract

This study investigates platelet proteome changes and apoptosis in 23 chronic alcoholism patients with alcohol-related liver disease (ARLD) using mass spectrometry. 441 proteins were identified, with 73 selected as candidate biomarkers related to coagulation, inflammation, and cellular interactions. Key proteins include von Willebrand factor, vitronectin, and serpin family members. Findings suggest that platelet proteome alterations could serve as noninvasive biomarkers for diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of ARLD.
