Abstract

This paper presents a method to control cabin temperature of a stationary vehicle exposed to solar energy using phase change materials (PCM). Natural wax PCM (melting point ~36 °C) absorbs heat from the cabin, melts, and reduces temperature. A copper tube filled with wax is placed inside the cabin. The PCM system enhances comfort and reduces emissions by storing and releasing latent heat. © 2023 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
