Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a medical condition in which the kidneys fail to eliminate adequate toxins and waste from the blood. This study aimed to establish risk factors, compare clinical characteristics, and outcomes of CKD patients in a tertiary care hospital in Salem. Of the study population, 33% were female and 67% male, with an average age of 61.66 ± 11.18 years. Hospitalization days increased in patients with ESRD. Major co-morbidities included hypertension and diabetes mellitus. Mean blood urea, serum creatinine, and eGFR before treatment were 32.52 ± 6.96 mg/dl, 5.69 ± 2.91 mg/dl, and 16.5 ± 10.03 mg/dl, respectively. After treatment, values were 12.87 ± 3.84 mg/dl, 1.78 ± 0.40 mg/dl, and 40.92 ± 16.46 mg/dl. Early detection and prevention techniques are essential to reduce kidney-related complications. © 2020 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
