Cloud computing is a major and emerging platform providing various IT-related services. Privacy and security are key challenges, as hackers can steal sensitive information from public or private clouds. Enterprise data often contains sensitive information affecting large numbers of people or businesses. Networks mediate all tasks, and access control is critical. Traditional key policies may fail if keys fall into the wrong hands. This paper proposes a collaborative access control scheme for public cloud storage using Attribute-Based Encryption. Data remains secure even if a hacker gains access to the key, as only assigned users can decrypt it. © 2020 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
