Parking a car in a small space is difficult and time-consuming. Drivers often wait for an appropriate spot, increasing engine idle time. This paper presents a prototype for collateral parking to reduce parking time, engine running time, pollution, and space usage. The angle of steering systems usually has limitations, with a maximum of 90 degrees unachievable in normal steering systems. By enabling perpendicular rotation of wheels with steering control, this collateral parking system allows easier parking in smaller spaces. © 2021 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
