Abstract

In this paper, we present a device used to measure the fetal heart rate during pregnancy. The major component for this detection is a fetal digital stethoscope sensor, which is placed on the abdomen of the pregnant patient. The signals are processed by the microcontroller, and the accurate fetal heart rate is sent as a text message to the respective mobile phone through the GSM module. Additionally, using an EMG sensor, uterus contractions are simulated as output on the desktop. This system is flexible, low-cost, and helps patients monitor the fetal heart rate at home. © 2021 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
