Abstract

Core-shell nanomaterial was synthesized and characterized by XRD, UV-DRS, FE-SEM and HR-TEM techniques. Complete photocatalytic studies were carried out for an azo dye Orange-G and non-azo dye Malachite Green. The prepared core-shell nanomaterial showed better activity (92% and 94% Org-G and Mal-G, 5 mg Core-shell/10 ppm dye/1h) than pristine ZnO (69 and 88% for Org-G and Mal-G 10 mg ZnO/10 ppm dye/2h). The kinetic studies showed the core-shell nanomaterial to be a better photocatalyst for azo and non-azo dye degradation with the order Malachite-G Orange-G. The studies on the effect of different electrolytes and by-product analysis were conducted.0. © 2023 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
