Diabetic foot ulcers are a serious complication of diabetes, often leading to morbidity or amputation. This prospective study at Vinayaga Missions Kirupananda Variyar Medical College included 100 patients aged 40-80 years. Investigations included blood tests, X-rays, and wound cultures. The prevalence of diabetic foot ulcers was 28%, with Staphylococcus (39.28%) and Proteus (21.42%) predominating. Most patients were older adults with long-standing diabetes. Early intervention and comprehensive care are crucial to improving outcomes and reducing amputation risk.
