Nasal packing is commonly used postoperatively to reduce bleeding and pain. Removal can cause mucosal injury. This study compared Fentanyl-soaked nasal packs versus normal saline packs in 68 patients aged 20–50 undergoing nasal surgery. Group A received 50 mcg Fentanyl pack; Group B received normal saline. Pain was assessed using RSS, Verbal Pain Intensity, Numeric Pain Rating, and Wong-Baker scales at 1, 6, 12, and 36 hours. Group A reported significantly lower pain scores at all times without significant adverse effects. Hemodynamic parameters were similar. Topical Fentanyl on nasal packs is effective in reducing postoperative pain.
