Abstract

Momordica dioica bioactive flavonoids and triterpenoids were studied for antiviral, antidiabetic, and immunomodulatory activity against SARS-CoV-2. Molecular docking and in silico ADME analysis showed hederagenin and oleanolic acid had superior binding to viral proteins (Mpro, RdRp, spike, ACE2, DPP4) compared to catechin, quercetin, and standard drugs. Quercetin demonstrated good safety and gastrointestinal permeability. The study indicates M. dioica compounds have therapeutic potential against SARS-CoV-2 infections, particularly under comorbid conditions. © 2022 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
