Abstract

Beam-column joints are vulnerable under seismic loads. This study evaluates ferrocement jacketing using self-flowable nanosilica-based cementitious mortar to retrofit deficient reinforced concrete (RC) exterior beam-column joints. Ten one-fourth scale specimens were tested under cyclic seismic loading. Jacketing improved load-carrying capacity by 40.62% and energy absorption by 14.26%, demonstrating the efficacy of the repair technique. © 2021 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
