Abstract
Natural disasters cause loss of life, property, and resources. Early Warning Systems (EWS) help mitigate these effects through timely alerts. This paper reviews the role of EWS in earthquakes, tsunamis, landslides, volcanoes, wildfires, and epidemics, detailing processes, tools, and technical monitoring. EWS improves public awareness and forecasting, but effectiveness depends on early action and efficient communication. Future scope and recommendations are provided. © 2022 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
