Underwater sensor networks face fuel-efficient organization challenges, multipath communication, and limited battery power. IoT-based solutions use acoustic modems for wireless groundwater communication. This study proposes Transmission Power-based Sparsity-conscious Fuel-Efficient Clustering (TPSFEC) integrating energy control, mobile drop collection, and next-hop booster nodes to improve data delivery and reduce energy cost. Statistical results show improved delivery with lower energy consumption. © 2022 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
