A wireless sensor network (WSN) monitors and records the physical state of the environment, relays the collected data to a central location, and records it to track geophysical processes over a long period of time in near real time, spatially distributed dedicated sensors. Data is transferred using properly connected sensors and a routing protocol. Cluster heads collect and compress data from nodes before sending it to the base station (sink). IoT refers to a network of physical objects and gadgets. Many IoT applications use WSNs (Wireless Sensor Networks) and Internet connections. This enables worldwide communication between apps and users. In order to deliver data transmitted effectively and achieve energy efficiency, the routing protocol and the usage of energy plays a main role. The DI-LEACH is proposed in order to achieve higher PDR and maintain Network Density throughout the network operation. © 2022 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
